July 27, 2016 – Carbondale, IL – SIU Credit Union has announced the appointment of Mike Lantrip as the new President/CEO effective August 1, 2016.  Lantrip replaces interim President/CEO William S. Capie.

“SIU Credit Union is truly fortunate to have someone as talented and knowledgeable as Mike prepared to assume the responsibility of CEO/President,” said Capie.  “His background and experience will assist in making a seamless transition in the leadership of the Credit Union.  He has demonstrated an ability to deal effectively with people and find equitable solutions to complex and sensitive problems.  Mike has earned the confidence and respect of those who know him.”

Lantrip has been with the Credit Union since 1983, working his way up from Part-Time Teller to Executive Vice President, where he collaborated with the CEO, Senior Management and the Board of Directors on strategy and organizational leadership.  He was directly involved with strategic planning, product development, digital delivery channels, payment services, industry partnerships, political advocacy and overall company financial health. With this appointment, Lantrip will be following in the footsteps of his father, Ron Lantrip, who served as the Credit Union’s President/CEO from 1992-2008.

I’ve had the unique opportunity to spend the last 33 years working and growing along with SIU Credit Union,” commented Lantrip.  “Today I’m honored by the Board’s willingness to entrust in me the opportunity to lead as President and CEO.  The credit union has experienced tremendous growth over the last few years, and I look forward to working closely with our staff so that we can effectively serve all members throughout southern Illinois for many more years to come.”

As an advocate for the credit union difference, Lantrip serves as the Legislative Forum Representative for the Egyptian Chapter of Illinois Credit Unions.  Additionally, he volunteers for the annual Saluki Baseball Fish Fry and Auction.

A southern Illinois native, Lantrip graduated from Carterville High School in 1984 and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Southern Illinois University – Carbondale in 1991.  He also recently earned the Certified Credit Union Executive (CCUE) designation from CUNA.

He resides in Carterville with his wife, Rosalina, and two Boxer puppies.

Please contact me regarding this issue with the 1000$ for a credit card. Why would I go from a loan to a card with no money. I was told at the bank on Giant city I was approved for 1000$ but was not. I was also told to leave that facility today, because of the deception at this location
If you think I’m important part of the bank,no matter what amount I have in my account.
I believe I have been treated badly and if I do not hear from you I proceed to transfer to another bank.
    Thank you

  • Charlotte Bailey -

    Mr lantrip,
I do know you and I do not understand why you would not help me with the visa credit card, I believe it does not matter to you at all. I wanted a 1000$ limit on a card. Why would I get a card with 500$ pay off a 500$ loan and have no money to utilize ? I have worked for every prominent name in Carterville. I am not a member of the Siu credit union, I am a victim of the SIU credit union. So unfoutnely I will be leaving your special little group of the incompantant employees and your disconcern of the real job you should be doing to help anyone who banks with SIU credit union.
Basically, fraud, decremanation and your lack of ability to reach out to a so call “member”. Thank you for not trying to reach out to me again.
    Best Regards
    C.BAILEY

I was charged $30.07 on my Visa credit card for debt protection. I was unaware that I signed anything that I wanted debt protection. I have never bought any type of debt protection on my other cards, my car, etc. I feel like I was scammed. I called the bank and they refuse to give me my money bank. I wished that you could straighten this out for me. I just sent an email to the bank and told them to email message to the president of the bank. Hope you can help. By the way, this Paul Brock. Thank you!
